summit of Mont Rogneux 3084m
Since a longt time i would like to go to the top of Mont Rogneux.
At the sunset the snow at the summit glows pink and it always looks like “beam me up Scotty”.
The night before this fine day the time changed from wintertime to summertime.
But this morning i decided spontaneous to walk to the top of Mont Rogneux.
It was already 11.00h when i took the bus to Bruson and almost 12.00 when i putted on my snowshoes.
It was sunny but also very windy. I had to walk along a ridge an a few times i was afraid the wind will blow me over the edge.I also needed a lot of force because of the wind.
Finaly i gave up my plan to reach the top and took the half downhill at the front-side of Mont Rogneux.
This ride ended in a canyon with a brook. I had to hike again 11/2hours and at least i took the the last part of my first planed downhill.
It was about 7h when i was back on the camping Caravaneige.
Finally i hiked about 6 1/2hours and rode 1/2hour this day.It might be much more better in January when the Snow is (good) til the bottom of the Val de Bagnes, when it’s fun to ride the alp-meadows.
I don’t think that i try again to reach the summit of Mont Rogneux this season, maybe next season.
But there’s one more plan left for my last 5 days: the downhill from Rosablanche 3300m to Fionay 1500m….
